On Friday, February 17, the Spartans welcomed the Fox Folk Marionette Troupe from Fox Valley Lutheran High School. The troupe treated us to a special performance in an “open stage”. The students enjoyed the performance and even took time to pose for a “selfie” with the marionettes.
BLS Standardized Test Scores
Each fall the students in grades 3-8 take standardized tests. The results of these tests help the faculty to determine how successful our educational program has been. It also gives us many reasons to be thankful to our Heavenly Father for providing incredible academic gifts to our students.
This year we are happy to report that our students scored very well on these tests. Our school scored above the national average in all core subjects – Reading, Language, Math, Science, and Social Studies. In many cases our students met or exceeded the scores from the other Lutheran Elementary schools in our Synod.
These test scores show how richly God has blessed our school and its students! To God be the Glory!
If you would like to find out more about the school-wide test results, please contact Mr. Schulz.
Tax Time is right around the corner!
The state of Wisconsin is offering a Private School Tuition tax credit for 2015. Families of students in 5K-8 (sorry 4K, you aren’t included in this yet) are able to claim a credit of up to $4000 in tuition paid during 2015. For information and questions on how you can claim this credit, visit the Wisconsin Department of Revenue and Wisconsin Council of Independent and Religious Schools. Those families who are interested in using this tax credit should check with Mrs. Jensen if they need tuition payment information from 2015.
For those families who are looking ahead to high school, the state offers this same tax credit for student who attend private high schools like our own Fox Valley Lutheran High School. The credit for high school students is $10,000 in 2015. Keep these encouraging laws in mind as you plan your child’s future education.
This year our school year theme is “Fix Your Eyes On Jesus”. Join us for Chapel on Wednesday, February 1st as we explore why we can “Fix our eyes on Jesus” as our pillar of strength. We would love to have you worship with us!

February hot lunch orders should be arriving in your mailbox this week. We understand that your order is only your best guess, and may change as the month progresses. These pre-orders help us to have enough food on hand each day and still make wise use of the food blessings that God provides us.
Hot lunch invoices with your existing balances will also be mailed to you this week. If you owe for last month’s lunches, please include that with your check for February lunches made payable to “Bethlehem Food Service”. Don’t be afraid to ask Mr. Schulz if you have any questions.
Pre-orders and payments are due by January 31st.
Thanks to all of you who return your pre-order forms and payments in a timely manner. This helps us to pay our bills on time and to make sure that enough food is available for all.
